MEET AUTHOR KARA LYNN RUSSELL

I had the awesome opportunity to interview Kara Lynn Russell, author of Until Summer’s End and the soon to be released holiday romance Nick and Noelle. Both are inspirational romances published by The Wild Rose Press. You can find Kara Lynn on the web at karalynnrussell.googlepages.com or at whiterosesinbloom.blogspot.com/

Q: When did you know you wanted to write?

A: I knew very early on, in elementary school. I loved making up stories. I got a lot of encouragement from my teachers which was a huge factor in the decision. I also got a lot of support from my parents.

Q: How do you make time for writing?

A: I usually get up early to write. But if I’m really hit with inspiration or have a deadline to meet, I make more time to write by putting off things like cleaning and laundry. (Sad, but true.) I try to never let my writing interfere with family time, though.

Q: What other jobs have you held or do you hold besides writing?

A: The most unusual job I’ve ever had was probably in college. I had a work study job as a costumer for the university theater department. That was a great experience. The best job I’ve ever had was to be a stay at home mom. Not everyone can do that, but I’m so happy I was able to. Now, I am the director of the my small town’s public library and I love that job, too.

Q: What is one of your favorite things to do when you're not writing?

A: I love to spend time with my family. My children range in age from 12 to 19. I don’t often get to spend time with them anymore so when I do, I treasure it. My husband has been working so much overtime lately that I hardly see him. I hope we can do something together when his big project is finished!
